I dont know about you but I was a bit embarrassed that it took us 8 years longer than France to deliver our portion of the high speed rail link to the channel tunnel.
It looks as if we are just as far behind on changing the way we heat our homes. In France last year there were 130,000 air source heat pump systems installed, and in France, Austria, Finland, Germany, Italy, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland combined there was a 46% year on year increase to 576,000..... so its not just France we are behind. In Switzerland 78% of all new build houses had air source heat pump heating systems installed.
So when we get over our addiction to gas we won't have to look too far for inspiration. When will that happen? Thats up to you, but as most commentators see a clear link between gas prices and the economy, a recovery from recession should see some pressing reasons for change appearing on your gas bill soon.
Time to think about a Green Air Central Heating system? The rest of Europe think so.
