Why use green air heat pump technology?
Green Air is dedicated exclusively to air source heating. Heat pump technology is ideally suited to the UK’s temperate climate, but it is still unfamiliar. Green Air aims to change that to help you save money and help make a meaningful difference in creating a sustainable, low carbon future for everyone. In Europe heat pumps are widely regarded as the most energy efficient heating systems with over 300,000 installed in France and Germany last year.
There are a number of air source heat pump manufacturers, but after extensive research Green Air exclusively recommend what we believe is the market leading product; the Mitsubishi Ecodan unit. The Ecodan is a reliable, proven technology developed specifically for domestic heating. It can cut your homes carbon emissions by up to 50% , is easy to install, and could save you up to 40% on your heating costs. (Source; Mitsubishi Electric 2009)
We believe it’s the most cost efficient domestic air source heat pump available to home owners and, unlike other renewable energy heating companies, we will not try and sell you alternative central heating systems if you dont think ours is right for you.
Why? Because we simply dont believe that the alternatives will save your more, or make as big a difference to reducing your domestic heating carbon emissions. Explore the website to find out more.
At Green Air we take a lot of notice of what leading voices are saying about a sustainable, low carbon future, and the key messages are increased efficiency and the de-carbonisation of electricity production. If you want to get a flavour of how "pro" air-source heating the DECC's Chief Scientific adviser is, take a look at this section of his book "Sustainability - without the hot air"
Compared to a conventional heating system, a Green Air heat pump delivers a significant improvement in efficiency, and with de-carbonized electricity from renewable sources increasingly available, you can play your part in making sure that your domestic heating is compatible with a sustainable low carbon future and saving money! What’s more, because it harvests free energy from the air, the Government classifies air source heating as a renewable energy and offers access to grants of up to £900 through the Micro-Generation Scheme, and a reduced VAT rate of only 5%.
Until recently air source heat pump units weren’t able to deliver the efficiencies required to consistently deliver hot water at over 55c. But Mitsubishi have made the key breakthrough with the Ecodan unit, deliveringtemperatures and flow rates required to make an air source heat pump a viable option with a conventional domestic radiator system.
27% of the UK’s carbon emissions comes from domestic heating which means, at 300%+ efficiency, every home switching to air source heating would see their emissions drop by at least 50%*.
Of course, switching to a renewable electricity supplier would see your carbon emissions from domestic heating drop to zero. Go to 100% Green? to find out how.
